Sancia Pinto is a Barrister and Solicitor licensed to practice law in the province of Ontario. Sancia is the Founder of Pinto Law. Sancia is currently a Superior Court of Ontario Hearings Officer with the Ministry of the Attorney General, Court Services Division, where she conducts mediations and quasi-judicial hearings. Sancia is also a Hearing Officer for the Administrative Penalty Tribunal for the City of Toronto where she conducts quasi-judicial hearings dealing with traffic, parking and licensing violations.
Prior to launching Pinto Law, Sancia worked at a boutique litigation law firm in downtown Toronto where she practiced exclusively representing Clients in the area of personal injury and disability litigation. Sancia has handled a varied array of cases from catastrophic injuries to fatality cases. Sancia is devoted to all areas of personal injury litigation on behalf of plaintiffs, including motor vehicle accident claims, slip and falls claims, product liability claims, accident benefits claims, tort claims, medical malpractice claims, disability and other insurance related claims. Sancia has also vigorously advocated for Clients with human rights, employment law, criminal injuries compensation, wrongful dismissal, long term disability, WSIB, ODSP and CPP disability claims.
Sancia has successfully conducted mediations, pre-hearings and arbitration proceedings at the Financial Services Commission of Ontario (FSCO) and the License Appeal Tribunal (LAT). Sancia has appeared on behalf of clients in Small Claims Court, Ontario Court of Justice and Superior Court of Justice matters.
Sancia has previously worked with the Ministry of the Attorney General, Office of the Children’s Lawyer (OCL) representing children eighteen and under in the area of child protection, custody and access, estates and personal injury matters. At the OCL, Sancia was involved with several Divisional Court and Court of Appeal matters. Sancia also actively assisted in the publication of a paper on behalf of the Children’s Lawyer titled, “Variation and Termination of Trusts”.
Sancia is a member of the Ontario Bar Association, Canadian Bar Associations, South Asian Bar Association and a mentor for law students in the Women’s Legal Mentorship Program. Sancia has also been a member of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association and the Alternative Dispute Resolution Institute of Ontario. In addition to her academic and legal pursuits, Sancia devotes her spare time to, monitoring real estate trends, travelling and spending time with her family.
